Object: senile cataract. Purpose: to increase the efficacy of senile cataract surgical treatment. Methods: ophthalmological, optical coherent tomography of the retina, spatial contrast sensitivity, statistical. Established that the retinal image contrast test object in the scattering of light through optic media of posterior lens capsule in mezopic conditions has reduced by 25% and 14% after phacoemulsification with standard and modified primary posterior continues capsulorhexis. There were received the data on the effect of light scattering on contrast sensitivity in mezopic conditions, which characterized by increasing its rates at frequency of 18 cycles/degree at modified primary posterior continues capsulorhexis in comparison with standard procedure -11,5%. The data of retinal transient edema development after phacoemulsification were supplemented with or without standard and modified primary posterior continues capsulorhexis, characterized by increasing its thickness by average of 8 and 6 mm in 2 days and 1 month after surgery. For the first time proposed apparatus and method of primary posterior continues capsulorhexis. The results of the work were adopted at the SI "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases & Tissue Therapy", Donetsk regional "Eye Microsurgery" center, Lugansk regional center of eye diseases, Kharkiv city hospital N 14 named after L.L.Girschman. Sphere of use: medicine, ophthalmology.
