A set of theoretical generalizations and a new approach to the complex and systematic studying of the general theoretic statements on correction and re-socialization of convicts serving sentences in middle-level security colonies are exposed. Based on the existing approaches in the criminal-executive science the doctrinal definition of correction and re-socialization of the convicts of the given category is formulated. The basic principles of the criminal-executive legislation for correction and re-socialization of convicts serving sentences in middle-level security colonies as well as their legal status are defined. A detailed description of correction and re-socialization facilities for convicts in middle-level security colonies is given.
