The thesis outlines a new comprehensive approach to contrastive and typological study of intimisation methods, devices and means in English and Ukrainian animal fairy tales; it presents the reconstruction of the poetical and stylistic means of intimisation in English and Ukrainian animal fairy tales; determines dialigisation as the common method of intimisation in English and Ukrainian animal fairy tales; characterizes universal and idioethnic peculiarities of intimisation textual devices; analyzes national and cultural specifics of the intimisation linguistic means in compared folk genres; deals with common and distinctive tendencies of the ethnic and cultural intimisation markedness in English and Ukrainian languages.
