Object - the complex pharmacognostic research of the Hedera helix leaves and investigation of pharmacological activity of phytosubstances, obtained from the plant; aim - pharmacognostic research of the Hedera helix leaves, medicinal plant material, collected in Ukraine, and preparing of its pharmacologically active phytosubstances; methods - physical, physico-chemical (paper chromatography, TLC, liquid, gas-liquid, column and preparative chromatography, UV-spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, Н1- and С13-NMR, types of 2D PMR: COSY, HSQC and HMBC), chemical, technological, microscopic, biological methods in vitro та in vivo, resource estimating and statistical methods; novelty - the complex pharmacognostic research which included comparative qualitative and quantitative phytochemical, morphological and anatomical analyses of Hedera helix leaves from vegetative and generative corms of the samples harvested in natural plant associations of the Western part of Ukraine was carried out for the first time; the technology for producing of the Hedera helix leaves dry extract which exhibits mucolytic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities was elaborated; the drafts of MQC for the medicinal plant material and Hedera helix leaves dry extract were developed; the resource estimation of the material was fulfilled; the scientific novelty of the work was confirmed by a patent of Ukraine for an useful model; results of complex pharmacognostic research of the Hedera helix leaves and its biologically active phytosubstances were included into scientific and academician processes of several higher educational establishments of Ukraine; area - Pharmacy.
