The thesis is a complex study concerning awarding, enforcing and servicing penalty in the form of imprisonment on the basis of the principle of justice of imprisonment as a type of criminal penalty. Philosophical, social and legal essence of the principle of justice is determined. The notion of the principle of justice is formulated. The author formulates a number of criminal-legal and criminal executive suggestions directed at the perfection of the realization of the principle of justice.
