Essay

Object: international migration in globalizing world. Aim: sociological conceptualization of modern international migration in the frame of combined provisions of sociocultural approach, theories of globalization and structural functionalism and its empirical approval in survey on Ukrainian female migration to Poland and Greece. Methods of research: analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction; classification, systems analysis and functional analysis; historical comparative analysis and method of interdisciplinary study. Theoretical and practical results: the complex theoretical pattern for studying international migration in globalizing world, its functions, classification system and conceptual categorial instrument are elaborated; courses and consequences of migration are unified and researched in social, cultural and personal groups; immigrants' sociocultural adaptation models are explored and correlated with adaptation policies in immigration countries and shaping the structure of migrants' sociocultural identity; the sociocultural dimensions of Ukrainian female migration to Poland and Greece are inquired on the theoretical basis of the paper. Novelty: the creation of the complex theoretical pattern for studying international migration process in globalizing world. Degree of implementation: The research results are used in teaching the courses of "Sociology of Migration", "Globalization: Sociological Analysis", "Mankind Sociocultural Development" for the students of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
