Novak S. Surgical treatment of ulcer of proximal part of stomach complicated by acute gastrointestinal bleeding

Dissertation deals with the analysis of the results of surgical treatment of 114 patients with the ulcer of proximal part of stomach complicated by acute gastrointestinal bleeding. The peculiarities of clinical course of the ulcer of proximal part of stomach complicated by acute gastrointestinal bleeding were defined. Treatment and diagnostics algorithm is worked out which allows to introduce differential surgical approach on the basis of endoscopic monitoring data. Requirements list was standardized in the work, to which the surgical interventions in patients with the ulcer of proximal part of stomach complicated by acute gastrointestinal bleeding must answer. On the ground of these requirements new organ-sparing surgery methods were worked out and introduced and it was scientifically proved that their use helps to decrease lethality and number of postoperative complications in early postoperative period as well as in long-term period.
