The thesis deals with the analysis of modern nicknames of Donetchina, including their semantic and structural peculiarities. Stages of studying of such informal names are observed, general fields of their studying are determined. An attempt to solve problem connected with the terminological interpretation of nicknamesis is carried out; the problem of origination and formation of nicknames as a separate class of onyms is considered.
