Essay

The paper is the first complex research of borrowed vocabulary in Ukrainian linguistics made from the point of view of its semantic and stylistic aspects on the material of Ukrainian postmodern prose of the beginning of the XXI century. It gave the opportunity to find out the percent of entering of borrowed words into the language of modern Ukrainian writers and the degree of adaptation of borrowed lexems in Ukrainian postmodern prose. The dictionary of borrowed words in Ukrainian postmodern prose has been compiled. The interpretation of the borrowed lexical units is illustrated by the declared material.
