Essay

The thesis represents an integrated study of category "interest" in contractual obligations of Roman law and present-day civil law of Ukraine. The dissertationist grounds provisions stated in the thesis, using sources of Roman law in author's translating from the Latin with due consideration of research papers of native and foreign scholars. During the research the contents of category "interest" in Roman law and present-day civil law of Ukraine is being cleared out, as a result, an author's definition of category of "interest" in civil law is proposed. The author clears up the origin of term "interest", giving grounds the term was formed in Roman law.
