Essay

The dissertation is the first Ukrainian monographic research of the fundamental principles of law role as an integrating element of the legal system. That status of the fundamental principles of law is determined by its embodying the legal values on which the legal system is built and by which it can take an integral nature. The work defines the concept, features and functions of the principles of law, examines its system and finds out the place of the principles of law (liberty, justice, equality and humanism) in it. An integrative effect of the fundamental principles of law to the legal system is within the axiological, regulatory and system making functions and is demonstrated on such important elements of the legal system as law-making, law-application and legal culture.
