The dissertation is devoted to theoretical legal studying provision of information security as function of the state. Special features of the state functions in current conditions were considered, interpreted in theoretical and practical aspects, classified by various parameters. Activity approach to consideration of provision of information security was justified; structure and contents of the state activity on provision of information security in conditions of forming information society were worked out in details and analyzed. Legal properties of information security were defined. Conceptual grounds of the international legal regulation of information security with taking into account possibilities to use foreign legal experience in practice of providing information security of Ukraine.
