Pshenychnykh A. Reperspectivization of the referent situation in English dialogical discourse (as presented in English multimedia live-action films)

The object to analysis is the discursive phenomenon of referent situation reperspectivization in multimedia live-action films dialogues; construals, communicative strategies and tactics of referent situation reperspectivization in dialogical speech are subject to analysis. The aim of the study is to establish construals and communicative strategies of referent situation reperspectivization in multimedia live-action films dialogues. The methods of cognitive and traditional semantics, discourse studies, lingvosemiotics, the theory of cinematograph are integrated to achieve the aim. The scientific novelty of the paper consists in applying activity-based approach to language to the object analysis; in elaborating the method of dialogue scene multimedia analysis; describing the construals, communicative strategies and tactics of referent situation reperspectivization, as well as their typical linguistic means in dialogical discourse; examining the specificity of the interaction of linguistic signs with those belonging to other semiotic systems under the conditions of referent situation reperspectivization in multimedia live-action films dialogues. The theoretical contribution of the paper is defined by the development of activity-based approach to language analysis. The practical application potential lies in the possibility of using the results obtained in lexicology, stylistics, theoretical grammar of English, cognitive semantics, discourse studies, and related disciplines (semiotics, the theory of cinematograph).
