Essay

The thesis examines the life and work of Fedіr Zarevych (1835 – 1879), one of narodnik leaders, the editor of the first narodnik periodical "Vechernytsi", a talented Halycian writer and publicist. In the dissertation analysed prosaic, dramatic and publicistic heritage of F. Zarevych in a wide cultural and historical context as organic manifestation of Ukrainian national narrative. The research under consideration proves that syncretistic prose of Fedir Zarevych is completely elevated to become one of the brightest sides of Ukrainian literary process in the second half of the XIX century.
