Suprychov О. Formation of geographic concepts of elementary school students in the elective classes in geography

The theoretical and experimental investigation of problems of geographic concepts to elementary school students in the elective classes in geography is illuminated. More specific definition of the term «geographical optional» is given. In the method of formation of geographic concepts defined specific optional course in geography, the stages of their formation is specifically mentioned. A level criteria and indicators of formation of geographic concepts, produced a complex of methods, tools and techniques of effective formation is developed. The complex of methods, which affect the success of the formation of geographic concepts to elementary school students in the elective classes in geography, verified its effectiveness is developed. A quantitative, qualitative and statistical analysis showed increasing tendency of formation of geographic concepts to elementary school students in the elective classes in geography. The results can be used in the practice of teaching, as reflected in the testing work in secondary schools.
