The thesis is a complex study of correctional center as a subject of implementation of punishment in the form of restriction of freedom. Criminal-executive characteristics of this type of punishment is revealed and grounded. The notion of correctional center and its tasks and functions in penitentiary system are formulated. The role of rights and duties of those sentenced to restriction of freedom in the process of their correction and resocialization is defined. Ways of perfection of legislation in penitentiary system are suggested.
