Essay

Object of the work is the recommendations of experts in the field of language culture in 1920s and early 1930s and the language of S. Pylypenko's, M. Khvyliovyi's and M. Ivchenko's fiction; the purpose is to identify the linguistic facts that created various language disputes in linguistic circles during the normalization of Ukrainian language (1920s) and to analyze the language of contemporary Ukrainian writers in terms of its compliance with linguistic prescriptions; the methods are: descriptive, comparative history, method of analysis, synthesis and comparison, method of total sampling and evaluation; the novelty of the work is that it represents systematic consideration of linguistic facts which were the subject of linguistic debates in the 1920s and early 1930s. It is combined with the systematic analysis of the fiction language evolution of that period; the results are: concepts "language culture", "literary language", " language standard", "literary language standard "are defined here. We also propose our own definition of the term "literary standard for the language culture" and the criteria of the definition of literary standards. In the dissertation there is systematic analysis of linguistic facts that were the subject of linguistic debates in the 1920s and early 1930s. It systematizes the range of stylistic advice of contemporary linguists to improve culture of the Ukrainian language. The systematic consideration of language evolution of contemporary writers in terms of there compliance with stylistic advice and recommendations is applied in the work; the sphere of the work is linguistics (culture and style of the Ukrainian language, history of literary language)
