Benzel I. Search, obtaining and phytochemical investigation of plant inducers of interferon.

Object - the complex pharmacognostic research of Bergenia crassifolia (L.) Fritsch leaves, Cotinus coggygria Scop. leaves, Geranium palustre L. grass and roots and lyophilized phytosubstances obtained on their base; aim - detection of plant sources with interferon-inducing properties in the western region of Ukraine, their pharmacognostic research and study the possibility of creation of new treatment and prevention medicines on their basis; methods - physical (polarimetry), physico-chemical (paper and thin layer chromatography, HPLC, preparative chromatography, UV-spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy), chemical, technological, biological methods in vitro and in vivo, statistical methods and method of introduction; novelty - the systematic search of plant interferon inducers of flora of the western region of Ukraine and complex phytochemical study of biologically active substances of perspective plant were carried out for the first time; spectrophotometric methods of quantitative determination of tannins, flavonoids and polyphenol compounds in the investigated types of raw materials and phytocomplexes on their base have been developed; the dynamic of accumulation of biologically active substances depending on the phase of the growing season was studied and cultivation conditions of Bergenia crassifolia (L.) Fritsch were developed; it was determined optimal conditions and developed ways of obtaining of lyophilized extracts from plant material, carried out their phytochemical analysis and investigated antiviral, antichlamydial, antirickettsial, antimicrobial, hepatoprotective properties and regenerative effect on the pancreas in experimental pancreatitis. The scientific novelty of the work was confirmed by a patents of Ukraine; results of research were included into scientific and academician processes of several higher educational establishments of Ukraine and practical work of state inspection laboratories of quality control of medicines; area - Pharmacy.
