Strelchenko E. The peculiarities of neurological disorders in patients with chronic pancreatitis and their drug correction

The thesis contains theoretical substantiation and new decision of a scientific problem on establishment of a pathogenic role of pancreas dysfunction in neurological disorder development, as well as it offers an improvement in identication of these disturbunces in the patients with chronic pancreatitis. Alterations in the vegetative and peripheral nervous system are identified and main factors of their development are established. Psychoemothional alterations in a form of anxiety-depressive disorder are identified. Correlations between anxiety and depression levels and chronic pancreatitis duration, as well as correlations between vegetative dysfunction degree and pain syndrome intensity are established. The thesis designates also functional and structural disturbances in the brain and the peripheral nerves. It establishes harmful effects of blood a-amylase and glucose on polyneuropathy intensity in chronic pancreatitis. Complex pathogenetic therapy of neurologic disturbances in patients with chronic pancreatitis has been developed and its efficiency has been proved.
