Kalaytan N. Psychological factors of emotional burnout syndrome and its dynamics in Emergency Medical Services physicians

The thesis is devoted to the study of psychological factors in the development of emotional burnout syndrome and its dynamics in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) physicians. The particularities of emotional burnout syndrome manifestation and its three-factor structure in EMS physicians are defined. The prevalence of different levels of syndrome regarding the service record is determined. The gender differences of burnout syndrome manifestation are revealed. The diagnostic criteria for assessment of the presence of emotional burnout syndrome in EMS physicians are suggested. The peculiarities of the emotional burnout syndrome dynamics in EMS physicians are investigated. The peculiarities of personality, emotional features, psychological defense mechanisms and coping strategies in EMS physicians with emotional burnout syndrome and their role in shaping of the syndrome are investigated. The psychological factors that are directly involved in the development of emotional burnout in EMS physicians are established. The psychological prevention and correction program for the treatment of emotional burnout syndrome that has proven its effectiveness had been proposed and implemented..
