The dissertation is dedicated to the complex theoretical characteristic of the concept, features and functions of a national state. Peculiarities of scientific understanding of concept of national state are researched in the thesis. Concept of national state from theoretic and legal positions is substantiated. The work pays much attention to main ways and perspectives of development of national state in modern conditions of globalization and European integration. The thesis exposes content of fundamental features of national state. Tendencies and directions of development of Ukraine as a national state on the grounds of analysis its characteristic features are determined.
