Essay

Thesis is dedicated to macular structural changes study after retinal detachment surgery, to mechanisms of their appearance and to the development of possible ways of their prevention. Method of OCT scan analysis that was proposed with the use of dual code allows to detect accurately microstructural changes of the retina and can be used for postoperative visual acuity prediction. The mechanisms of influence of vitreous body and subretinal fluid were studied on PVR model in vitro. Vitreous body doesn’t depress cellular proliferation, but even stimulates it in some cases. That witnesses the presence of proliferative factors in vitreous body. It was established that subretinal fluid depresses proliferation and increases apoptosis of fibroblast-like cells actively. That explains the causes of retinal pigment epithelium and photoreceptor cells deaths in clinical conditions. Mentioned above PVR model allows to detect perceptibility of proliferative cells to different antiproliferative drugs and their constellations. It was established that combined action of 5-fluoruracil and bevacizumab in minimal concentration reveals marked effect on proliferative cell strain L929. That is proved by vital indices suppression of fibroblast-like cells.
