The work opens aninsufficiently researched problem of a role of leading Ukrainian churches and the Christian organizations in electoral process particularly in the Western Ukraine, taking into account all the features of the historical past and the political views of local voters.  It structures the reasons, displays and consequences of the use of the religious factor by the participants of pre-election races, starting from the establishment of the general electoral law in the Western Ukraine till now.
