Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of separation principle of state authority as the most essential features of democracy and the features of its implementation in the context of the formation of modern Ukrainian state. The author of study presented development of the idea of power's distribution of in the western and domestic political and legal thought in terms of unity of theoretical and practical approaches. The essence of the concept "distribution of powers" is researched and the basic conceptual approaches to its interpretation are distinguished. Specificity of formation and functioning of the distribution of powers in the context of state building in independent Ukraine is shown. The most important organizational and functional deficiencies of practical implementation of distribution of powers in Ukraine are determined and the main ways of improving the system of government in the context of political reform are outlined.
