The article deals with the special education of civicism in mental defectives - senior pupils; creation of the correctional - educational work system which can help to activate their civic consciousness as foundation to educate a real citizen, who is able to think on their own, independently. Has been held an experimental investigation which has proved and demonstrated the efficiency of the worked out pedagogical providing the implementation of the program for special education of civicism in mental defectives - senior pupils of boarding school outside regular hours.
