In dissertation the theoretical and methodological problems of decision and understanding of principles of becoming and development of institute of local self-government are exposed in Ukraine. The analysis of the category and evaluation going is carried out near understanding of principles in a right, it is exposed політико-правова nature of principles of local self-government, their classification and specific description. Rich in content description of principles of local self-government in Ukraine and their system is analysed in detail, the sphere of their functioning, problem of their interpretation and legalization, and also role of international standards of local self-government, is certain in their forming.
