Topical problem of formation of the own style of teaching music of the students of higher pedagogical institutions is studied in the dissertation. New conceptual approach to realization of professional preparation of the future musician-pedagogue, which lies in intensification of motivation to acquirement of the own style of teaching music is given. The own style of teaching music is considered as multicomponent phenomenon in the structure of methodical preparation of the future teacher of music art; the author's understanding of the essence and the content of the mentioned phenomenon is given, the structure of the own style of teaching music, criteria and its indices, principles and the levels of its readiness and optimization of the present process is shown. Structural-functional model of the methodology of formation of the own style of teaching music of the students of higher pedagogical institutions is worked out. It is theoretically grounded and practically checked that effective teacher's competence in the own style of teaching music can be acquired in the process of professional preparation by virtue of immediate pedagogical intervention. In the course of experimental work the efficiency and adequacy of the offered methods, which secured effective mastering of methods of the own style of teaching music formation of the students of higher pedagogical institutions and ensured its availability is verified.
