Objects of research: innovative potential of the national economy. A research objective: the essence of innovation potential socio-economic development, clarify the characteristics of its formation, study ways to develop and effectively implement the directions. Research methods: system and synergetic method, historical and logical method, a scientific abstraction, statistical and economic method, graphical method, economic-mathematical method, the structural method. Results, novelty: the basic directions of a systemic effect on the innovative potential of socio-economic development; using the developed integrated indicator measuring innovative potential of the country revealed that the main limiting factor is the imbalance in its implementation of elements of the resource component; it is improved ordering stages in the development of innovative theories; it is improved theoretical understanding of the content of the innovation potential of the country; has had the further classification of factors deinnovatization modern economy of Ukraine; was further justification for the need to strengthen the state's role in the innovation orientation of social reproduction.
