The experimental material in studying the impact of various housing conditions on the growth of replacement gilts of heavy white breed before breeding age, further efficiency and reproductive ability in three farrowings of the grown sows, the growth and the reproductive ability of the growing-fattening young pigs is stated in the dissertation. The effectiveness of replacement gilts raising before 8 months age on a deep permanent straw litter in pig brooder with controlled microclimate is studied. The evaluation results of replacement gilts raised on a partially slotted floor, on a fully slotted floor and on a deep permanent straw litter according to growth indices, ethological investigations, feed costs per 1 kg of body weight gain and growth indices of the grown during three subsequent farrowings of fattening young pigs are presented. For the increase of pork industrial production in the farms it is recommended to keep the replacement gilts before breeding age on a deep permanent straw litter in pig brooder with controlled microclimate.
