Salionovych L. Discourse of Ivan Franko in terms of gender linguistics

The object is the main categories of gender linguistics and peculiarities of their representaion with the means of the Ukrainian language; the aim is to make a comlex linguistic analysis to identify specific linguistic characteristics of the category of gender, specific features of linguocreativity of the writer and his dicourse; methods that are used: linguistic description with the usage of contextual (discoursal) analysis, component analysis, opposing, modeling, syntagma-syntax analysis, elements of statistics method; novelty - it is the first time in Ukrainian linguistics when the system of Ivan Franko's linguophilosophic views through gender linguistics parameters is considered: the basic theoretical aspects of gender linguistics are represented; the system of gender stereotypes, gender roles and gender norms determined due to analysis of masculine / feminine speech behaviour and represented in I. Franko linguistic consciousness and his discourse are concerned; the chosen linguistic material is analysed using gender approach: verbal and non-verbal means of representing gender stereotypes, gender roles, gender behaviour in all types of I. Franko discourse are described; catagory of gender in I. Franko linguophilosophy is generalized; peculiarities of I. Franko linguistic consciousness through gender linguistics parameters are characterised; results - practical material, basic states and conclusions of the thesis can be used in educational process while teaching gender linguistics and the personality of Ivan Franko at philological departments; field - linguistics.
