The problems of application of inter-curricular connections in psychological and pedagogical literature and in practice of school biological education were analyzed in the thesis; the most effective pedagogical conditions for the implementation of cross-curricular connections in biology lessons at the elementary school were determined; the structure of primary school pupils' readiness for the use of knowledge from related disciplines (physics, chemistry and geography) in biology lessons was identified.
