Bilyavs'ka T. Language issues on the pages of the periodical "Zorya" (1880-1897 years).

The thesis presents a systematic analysis of scientific and journalistic publications of the periodical "Zorya" (1880-1897), which deal with the issues of the development of Ukrainian literary language and linguistics at the close of the nineteenth century. The contribution of the periodical into orthoepic processes, spelling, lexical and grammatical codification of the Ukrainian language are determined. Special attention is paid to the formation of the language in Galicia in the outlined period. The features of West Ukrainian language practice are revealed by the example of the analyzed texts. The range of linguistic and extralinguistic factors that led to the presence of stylistically-marked language units in the periodical is specified.
