The thesis highlights the history of researching Taras Shevchenko’s literary prose and the system of idiomatic intertextual units fixed in reproducing Taras Shevchenko’s stories into the Ukrainian language. The research discusses the sources of the idiomatic phrases of T. Shevcenko’s stories, semantic and structural semantic transformations. It also differentiates the notions of transformation and variation of idiomatic intertextual units, the issues of their variation and how they are codified in phraseography.
