Segeda S. Assessment of the environment state in the location area of the South-Ukrainian NPP

Subject of research - development of environmental conditions in the area of the South-Ukrainian NPP (SU NPP) location. Research objective - assessment of environmental situation around the South-Ukrainian energy complex for the period of its service and factors that influence its environmental safety. Research approaches: field, landscape, analytical research, methods of system and landscape analysis, math statistics, geoinformational mapping and analysis. Theoretical and practical results are the following: it is established the change of environment components condition in the area of the SU NPP location. Model and landscape structure schematic map were built for given territory and revealed the predominance of anthropogenic landscapes; performed the ecological-and-functional zoning of the main industrial site of the SU NPP taking into consideration the environmental threat of technogenic system facilities. It is established that environment components in the area of the SU NPP location have the mean resistance to pollution; the landscapes of the territory refer to heavily changed. It is established the background and current ecological condition of the river Pivdennyi Buh and area's soils. It is established that the ecological condition of environment in the area of the SU NPP location is closed to background, and enterprise operation and agricultural activities on the territory under investigation influence the surrounding within the limits of its natural potential. The novelty: for the first time it was implemented a comprehensive environmental assessment of the environment in the area of the SU NPP location; performed the comprehensive evaluation of environmental conditions in the area of the NPP location taking into account the non-radioactive and radioactive influence based on ecological indexes; has been suggested the suitable for practical use at the NPP the structure of GIS for the assessment of the energy complex at the NPP environmental impact; have been developed the recommendations regarding the improvement of the ecological monitoring system in the radiation control area of the SU NPP. Level of implementation: plans for implementation. Scope: at the enterprises of NNEGC "Energoatom", other companies of the Ministry of Fuel and Coil Industry of Ukraine, local authorities in the regions of Ukraine where NPP and Nuclear Facilities for other intended purposes are located.
