Object of research - the process of roadside area contamination. The purpose of research - estimation of roadside area quality and improvement of its ecological safety by improving highways ecological monitoring system and implementing environmental protection measures. Methods - biomonitoring (lihenoindykatsiya and biotesting), mathematical modeling. Theoretical and practical results: theoretically substantiated and experimentally confirmed the feasibility of improving the system of ecological monitoring of highways by incorporating complex biomonitoringovih methods and mathematical modeling methods; developed a method of evaluating and ranking the quality of roadside area; the neural network developed a mathematical model assessing the quality of roadside area; given the methodology of choice the location of items of environmental monitoring and to develop technical solutions and recommendations to improve the quality of roadside area in order to ensure ecologycal safety. Novelty: the technique of evaluating and ranking the criteria of the quality of roadside area; first proposed the use of neural network mathematical model to assess the quality of roadside area within the parameters of the functioning of the road transport system for the entire period of operation of the road; scientific necessity and procedure for implementation of environmental measures and improvement of environmental points monitoring depending on the target, the quality of roadside area. Degree of implementation: a method of determining the quality of roadside area and the location of items of environmental monitoring referred to in the introduction of service roads in the Kharkov region and the State Administration of Environmental Protection in Kharkiv region. Scope: the results can be used by organizations that are engaged in the development and implementation of environmental monitoring system.
