Sharkan V. Formation of scientific style in new Ukrainian language in the middle of the 19 th century

The investigation provides multiaspect analysis of scientific style of Ukrainian language in Eastern Ukraine in the middle of the 19 th century. In particular, unfavourable socio-political conditions for the formation the style are treated and the activity of Culture and Science representatives is defined. The thesis approves that about 90 scientific texts in Ukrainian on different fields and different genres appeared in an outlined period. The central role of magazine "Osnova" is emphasized. The investigation analyzes terms and nomenclature of school textbooks (1857-1863), written in Ukrainian, in themes, renewal source, normalization tendencies. It outlines the problem areas of codification terms and non-term lexics in prospection.
