Essay

The dissertation is the first comprehensive research of late prosaic literary works by the Austrian author Ingeborg Bachmann (1926 - 1973) within Ukrainian literary studies in the prospect of identification problems field actualization. The process of author's self-identification is viewed in historic-cultural, philosophical and biographical contexts. Special attention is concentrated upon the concept of Habsburg myth as the main aspect of Austrian identity formation. Biographic component of І. Bachmann's author's self-identity is investigated in the context of historical events influence in relation to the Austrian Anschluss and World War II as well as in the process of the author's image shaping (mythologization and self-performance).
