Essay

High levels of incompliance to antihypertensive therapy in old patients with hypertension and CHF was found. Parallelism between the increase of aortic stiffness, worsening of heart diastolic function, renal function decline in elderly patients with hypertension and CHF was noted. It was found the role of age in the deteriorating of elastic properties of aorta, diastolic heart function and renal function. Evaluated influence the short- and long-term effects of antihypertensive therapy with enalapril, metoprolol and trimetazydine at clinical course, on structural and functional state of the heart, arteries, and renal function in old patients with hypertension and CHF.
