Dissertation is devoted to the hygienic assessment of the impact of conditions and organization of educational process on the health forming in mentally retarded children at special secondary boarding schools. Analysis of the present conditions and organization of education, up-bringing, nutrition, medical care of the mentally retarded pupils at contemporary special boarding schools has been carried out. Character and level of the impact of main factors of conditions and organization of vital activity and educational process on the health forming of mentally retarded children has been established on the basis of complex physiological-and-hygienic studies. The ways for optimization of vital activity conditions for mentally retarded children at the special secondary institutions have been scientifically substantiated.
