Essay

The aim of the dissertation is to study reception forms of the Czech avant-garde literature in Ukraine and some aspects of avant-garde typology. The definition of the avant-garde is proposed: avant-garde is the style in the art and literature of the first third of the XX century, which is marked with the desire of the radical changes and updates; the searching of the impressive artistic means, unusual using of the language and poetical technique; elaboration of the new themes and plotes. Czech avant-garde had three periods - proletarian literature (1920-1924); poetism (1923-late 1920th); surrealism (1934-1938). The proletarian literature is considered to be avant-garde, because of its new themes (life of the city workers) and new unusual forms (metaphor, analogy, comparison). Poetism is an unique Czech art style, which has several main features: 1) the ability to synthesize different, even opposite, tendencies in the art; 2) the positive attitude to the world; 3) grate influence on the development of Czech art. Czech surrealism was born like the continuance of the poetism, it also was an attempt to synthesize French and Russian influences.
