Dziuba D. Postoperative caudal analgesia for patients with anterior abdominal wall hernias

The dissertation work is dedicated to the improvement of anesthesia of the patients who were operated for hernia of the anterior abdominal wall, by the use of scientifically based and designed variants of the caudal analgesia (CA). The CA by 0.125 % solution of bupivacaine combined with 4 mg of morphine was allowed to more effective anesthetize of the patients in postoperative period than commonused analgesia of the control group (use of parenteral opioids). Moreover, the preventive CA had advantages over the postoperative CA. Positive and negative effects of the CA were detected and treatment by butorphanol of itching and delayed urination, which caused by the use of morphine, was proposed.
