Object: social milieu which forms attitudes towards political extremism. Aim: sociological conceptualization of the social milieu which forms attitudes towards political extremism, and empirical exploration of its basic features. Methods of research: general scientific methods of the analysis, synthesis, the comparative analysis, typology, the semistructured questionnaire survey. Theoretical and practical results: it is offered conceptualization of the phenomenon of the political extremism. It gives theoretical-methodological prospect for the further sociological studying of the social phenomena connected with facts of illegal politically motivated violence, their origin and practical means of prevention. Novelty: conceptualization of the social milieu which forms attitudes towards political extremism, and empirical exploration of structure functional characteristics of such milieus. Degree of implementation: the main provisions of research are used in teaching of training courses "Political sociology", "Conflictology", "Sociology of intercultural communications" for students of sociological faculty of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv national university.
