Bekirova G. The National Movement of Crimean Tatars for Returning to Homeland.

The thesis purports to examine reasons and consequences of the Crimean Tatars' deportation from ethnic and political perspectives, their existence in special deportation settlements, the beginnings, institution and growing of the national movement of Crimean Tatars for returning to their homeland. The author elaborates and argues the ethnic and political concept of this movement. The juridical documents of the Soviet Party and governmental authorities on the Crimean Tatars in 1940-1991, repressive actions and tribunal persecutions against their activists, variety of forms of the Crimean Tatars' cooperation with Soviet dissidents and diaspora abroad are analyzed.
