Object of research: the evolution of the market as a system of economic relations today. The purpose of the thesis: the study of the nature and characteristics of market transformation under influence of intellectualization of economy, including the entry of countries with transitional economies in the postindustrial society. Methods: the dialectical method, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, comparative analysis, multidisciplinary approach. Results: the market essence, its evolution and current status are characterized; post-industrial society periodization has been worked out based on the proposed categories of fundamental and actual structures; definition of intellectualization is formulated; the main directions of market transformation are considered under the influence of the intellectualization of the economy; an attempt is made to determine the status and prospects of forming a post-industrial society in Ukraine. Scientific novelty: the main directions of influence of the intellectualization of economy on the competitive relationship in terms of market transformation are identified and described; the concept of "intellectual" monopoly is proposed; approach to market definition as well as the understanding of the post-industrial society periodization are improved; theoretical basis for competition legislation of Ukraine development has got further development. Practical significance: the results and conclusions of the research can be used in the scientific literature on economic theory especially concerning the further study of the intellectual society processes; in the development of competition policy by state institutions, as well as in higher education preparing training programs, lectures and special courses, textbooks and manuals. Sphere of use: higher education institutions.
