Essay

Thesis is devoted to the theoretical and experimental study of using the coping-behavioral strategies of hypertensive patients during stationary treatment. During the study 110 people were surveyed, 60 of them were treated in hospital and 50 patients were treated on an ambulatory basis. The influence factors of the formation of coping-behaviors and behavioral strategies were determined. It was revealed that those individuals who use adaptive (productive) coping need less social support. Besides, patients who use solution-focused coping-strategies have significantly lower levels of personal and situational anxiety. On the basis of the obtained data the recommendations were elaborated for the psycho-corrective work with patients. They are aimed to adapt to the hospital conditions and to enhance the productive and adaptive coping-behavioral and coping-strategies. The program was based on the principles of complexity, sequencing and superposition. It was also based on the elements of rational and behavioral psychotherapy. The surveyed patients successfully learned relaxation and desensitization techniques. They also learned to express their feelings and evaluate objectively the environmental factors that may influence their disease and treatment.
