It is for the first time in home literature that in the dissertation research on the monographic level was conducted a researchof punishment institution on the Great Lithuanian Princedom's Ukrainian lands during the period of 14 century second half - 16 century beginning. It was shown the essence, aim, functioning peculiarities of punishment institution in verbal law tradition, written Lithuanian-Russ law and in foreign origin law.
