In the dissertation work theoretical basis of the formation of motives are generalized and the essence of the work motivation in the context of new economic relations formation in agriculture is defined. The impact character of social, economic and organizational factors on occupational personnel activity of the agricultural farms is determined and forming their motivation to work effectively. Based on statistical data and results of the social survey the state of the motivation process is assessed and its specialties in agricultural enterprises are ascertained. Preconditions are established and criteria for constructing effective stimulation work system in agricultural enterprises are grounded. The possibilities of using modern forms of staff stimulation at agricultural enterprises are proved to improve effectiveness of their work and orientation on the perspective of the enterprise development. Suggestions for improving work assessment in agriculture as the basis of its motivation are developed. The approaches to the construction of work motivation system in agricultural enterprises are proved and directions for improving the management process of motivation are proposed.
