Theoretical principles of a concept-category research vehicle of political culture in the context of transformation processes in Ukrainian society have been improved. The key signs of political culture, democratization, etc. have been outlined. The base constituents of political culture have been determined; the evolution of conceptions of the political culture formation has been researched, and it has been proved that at present the formation of the democratic political culture is one of the most important determinatives of the modernization of the political system of Ukraine.
