The object of this study is the defeat of cardiovascular system in hypertensive patients; the goal is to improve treatment efficiency for patients with essential hypertension by the use of ACE inhibitors and ?-blockers; the methods used are clinical, biochemical, instrumental, statistical; the novelty of the research is determining the impact of the combined anti-hypertensive therapy using ACE inhibitor and ?-blocker on left ventricular diastolic function, as well as systemic hemodynamics, and factors that contribute to the poor prognosis of hypertension. The findings were introduced into practice of Therapeutic and Cardiology Departments of Multidisciplinary Hospital
