Essay

The dissertation is devoted to study of propagation of the plane elastic waves in laminated materials with initial stresses at slipping layers. Wave propagations is considered within the framework of the three-dimensional linearized theory of elasticity. The composite consists of periodically alternating layers made of two materials. The layers can slip freely with respect to each other. For the elastic potential having arbitrary form, the dispersion equations for quasi-transversal and quasi-longitudinal waves propagating in compressible composite as well as for quasi-transversal wave propagating in incompressible composite are derived within the long-wave approximations. Numerical investigations of the dispersion equations are carried out for cases of ideal contact and when the slip is allowed on the layer interfaces for quasi-longitudinal and quasi-transverse waves propagating along layers of composite materials with initial stresses. The influence of slip and initial stresses on the waves propagation velocities is studied.
